Today is November 1, 2014. I’m writing this at night, which I usually don’t do. It’s because I don’t want to miss out this opportunity to write a blog post during the first day of the month.
I have been doing this frequently to improve one aspect of my life every month. Some month I plan to improve my writing and some months, plan to program everyday.
In the same way, this month–November–I plan to work on my speaking skills. I have to, even if I don’t want to. It’s because I’m a speaker at WordCamp Nepal which will happen this November 22nd. Until then, I should significantly improve my speaking skills.
I have never participated in any events that include public speaking. This is the first one. I actually skipped last year because I was not comfortable speaking in front of crowd. But this year I planned to expand my comfort zone and speak in WordCamp Nepal.
It’s a huge WordPress event that takes place every year.
I went to speaker selection some weeks ago and spoke for the first time in front of a crowd. I performed horribly. I wasn’t prepared and I was not confident. I want to improve on those weak aspects.
If I can manage to speak everyday and record something then my speaking will probably improve on a steady scale. So, that’s what I plan to do this month.
Speak, record, and learn public speaking skills. Keep practicing and give a confident presentation on WordCamp Nepal 2014.
