You Will Never Win The Game of Comparison

Sunrise from Buddhanagar, New Baneshwor
Human needs are insatiable. When you fulfill a desire, an even grander desire arises.

Say you make $50,000 per year. You move to a neighborhood where people’s income average to $100,000 per year. Your $50,000 starts to seem too low. So, you move for more.

You reach $100,000. Now you move to another neighborhood because you have fulfilled your desire. You settle in neighborhood where people average $200,000 per year. And so you start to move towards it.

You keep going and going. But you’ll never reach the top. It’s because there’s always someone who has more than you, no matter what.

Say you’re height is 5’10”. You’ll always wish to be 6′. Anyone 6′, wishes to me 6’2″. People who are 6’4″ will be annoyed that they are too tall.

Whatever happens, you’ll never be satisfied.

You’ll never win the game of comparison. You’ll only make yourself worse playing it. So, don’t play it.

If you want to win this game, go other way around to learn and be self-sufficient.
